Day 1 Transfer to Rwenzori Mountains

Depart Entebbe and travel to the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains near Kasese.

Meet your mountain team and prepare for the trek.

Overnight Near the Mountains

Begin your trek through tropical rainforest, crossing rivers and ridges before reaching Nyabitaba Hut.

Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut

Descend through forest before crossing the Bujuku River and entering the giant heather zone.

Overnight at John Matte Hut

Trek through the beautiful Bigo Bog and into the spectacular Bujuku Valley.

Overnight at Bujuku Hut

Ascend through alpine terrain toward Elena Hut, your base for the summit attempt.

Overnight at Elena Hut

Begin the summit ascent before dawn.

Reach Margherita Peak (5,109m) before descending to Kitandara Hut.

Overnight at Kitandara Hut

Descend through beautiful alpine landscapes and mountain valleys.

Overnight at Guy Yeoman Hut

Continue descending through giant heather and forest ecosystems.

Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut

Complete the trek and return to Entebbe.
